The Fairies are up to something!

Sundays in the Garden

Sunday December 9 th 2018

It was hard to do much in the garden this week - with it being so crazy hot - but that didn't stop the Fairies getting up to something ...

I found this ladder up the tree ...

and what looks like a flying fox of some sort ...

... it goes to the other tree over here, but I am not sure who is building this,
or where it is leading too!

Perhaps there will be more ladders in the future?
Who knows what they get up to! ...

A very tricky bunch that live in my garden ...

But they sure are a trusting folk, they leave the key out and everything!

So I asked the Mermaids, if they knew anything about it ~ but they only sing songs that make no sense to me ...

... or flat out ignore me, and just giggle ...

... one of the Fairies said it could be the Gumnut Babies ~

but no one is really saying much at all ... not to me anyway! :)

... they just daydream, and act like I am not even there.

Most of the time that I go into the garden ... they pretend to be asleep anyway!

Bless :)

Womble Wednesday

Womble Wednesday ~ December 5th 2018

Bonkers for Battery Lighting!

Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday's on-going themed posts are inspired by Tessie,
... and as a way of regulating myself, my brain, and my time ~ at the same time!
Bonus!

Bless You for inspiring me Teresa!
Hari Bol! xoxo

So, the only rules for Womble Wednesday, is that there are no rules! ... or more likely ... it is something I have put together from my Womble collection this week. The items I could have found today, or twenty years ago - the point being that I finally figured out how I want to use it & put it together, to make something new this week ~ in true Womble fashion.
Here is a collection of Womble Free finds I am working with at the moment - some need a good clean and probably even a fresh coat of paint!

Lets see what I can make with this lot in the future!

There might even be regular Crafty Vintage Womble Productions added to the etsy store! Look out for that!

And I may, or may not include step-by-step photos, so you can see exactly how I make stuff .... but probably only if I do something tricky, or out-of-the-ordinary ways or doing things ... who know's? ... then I might even make a video!
Gosh! Imagine! :)

So here is the bonkers Womble lighting things I did this week with battery lights
LOVE the warm LED battery lights!

Electric bill going down ... solar re-charged battery collection going up!
Yippee!

And here are some treasures found [below] to work on for next week -
I am seeing a
Tree of Lights transforming from my old market display tree, left over from when I made felt birds, because who didn't make felt birds ... right?!?! ;)

... and clearing out the old Christmas decorations could come up with something new - with battery lights of course!

I did say I was bonkers for battery lights didn't I ?!?

Crafty Vintage Womble Production of the Week ...
One-way Coffee Valve, Self Burping Mason Lid / Tops!

So there are these self burping silicone Mason tops, that cost a pretty packet - and I figured I need some of the coffee storage kinds - so my coffee does not go rancid ... as it does if the air can not escape.

So I basically invented? [... can I use that word? as I have not seen anyone else do it yet ...] A mason lid, with the one-way valve from the bag you buy coffee beans in ...

- and Presto !

A Self Burping Lid - for next to nix!

Make one yourself ~ ideas of the kind of kit you will need, are shown in the picture below.

*Tips on making Self Burping Lids*

*Go slow if you are using a drill - trust me - use the slow setting. 16mm spade bit seems to work well.

*Clamp down the lid with some sort of clamp or grippers, it will try and get away from you! ... and wear goggles!

* Always Safety First!

*If using a punch - always use the end grain of the wood block, so you do not damage your punch.

*The hole you make should be a very tight squeeze for the valve to fit into - it should be hard to get in there, and take some effort, so it creates a good tight seal.

... or save yourself the hassle and buy one [as seen above] from my esty store,

as soon as I figure out the postage and packaging ! :)

Happy Wombling Everyone!

Sundays in the Garden

Sundays in the Garden

Week ending Sunday December 2nd 2018

As my love of being a shutter-bug will never die, and I am so often snapping away in the garden, I have been thinking ... What to do with all these pictures?
So, inspired by Teresa, [Bless] ... I will simply add some pictures I took around the garden throughout the week, on Sunday evenings for folks to have a look-see at.
I hope you can enjoy seeing a tiny snippet natures beauty, from my view at least.

Seasonal Madness!

'Tis the season to get crazy it would seem ... and they start getting crazier, and earlier at it every year!

Oh My! The craziness out there!!
So this is soothing me today, and simply, I wanted to share... as it does have some lovely banter in relation to the season, how to cope with it spiritually, along with many references to Charles Dickens' novel 'A Christmas Carol' and its main character Ebenezer Scrooge...

Plus it is wonderful to sing-a-long and dance to!

I do hope you get some joy and benefit from it. :)
